Configuring SSO Setup

NOTE: See the SmartSolve Installation Guide for instructions on how to configure the WebConfig file to enable the single sign-on feature.

  1. From the SmartSolve Portal Page, click the Home tab.
  2. In the Setup and Policy section, click Setup.
  3. In the User Management section, click SSO and Account Preference.
    Result: The Single and Account Preference window is displayed.
  4. Click Action > Add.
    Result: The SSO and Account Preference entry window is displayed.
  1. Enter the information in the following fields:
Field Description

SSO Setup Action

Select the setup action:

  • Import All Users - Select this option to import all users into the SSO setup window.
  • Import Selected Users - Select this option to select users from the Internal Actors window to import into the SSO Setup window.
  • Add Portal Users - Select this option if this user(s) is a user who does not exist in SmartSolve's actor table, but can log into the Quality System Portal.

NOTE: The fields below will vary depending on the option selected here.

Logon User*

If you are importing selected users, zoom to select single or multiple actors.

OR

If adding a portal user, enter the code for the user.

Name

Enter the name of the person or group of multiple actors for whom SSO is being enabled. This field is only displayed if Add Portal Users was selected as the SSO Setup Action.

E-mail Address*

Enter the email address for the user or user group. This field is only displayed if Add Portal Users was selected as the SSO Setup Action.

Enable Login

Check this checkbox to enable/specify the login parameters for the selected actor(s). Select from the following:

  • No - The user cannot log in.
  • Yes - The user can log in.
  • Needs Approval - Once the user is saved, the user must be approved before the user will be able to log into the system.
  • Blacklisted - The user cannot log into the system and should not be approved for SSO login.

NOTE: To import all users, this field must be set to Yes.

Domain*

Enter the user’s network domain. This activates the single sign-on option for the actor in SmartSolve.

Language*

Select the language to be used when the actor logs into SmartSolve.

Time Zone

Select the Time Zone that the system will default to when the actor logs into SmartSolve.

  1. Click the Save button.
    Result: Single sign-on has been configured for all selected actors.
